Migrant Workers Resistance

The COVID-19 crisis in India has made the migrant workers visible in public discourse. But the dominant narratives have made them visible as subjects of compassion, as perpetual victims seeking help of others and not as active makers of our society, not as rightful citizens, not as resisting political subjects who can challenge oppressive conditions surrounding them.


Workers in Chandigarh have been protesting the forceful implementation of the Human Efficiency Tracking System (HETS) on the sanitation workers watches everyday since February this year till the time the lockdown began.

मध्य प्रदेश में एक बंधुआ मजदूर को केरोसिन डालकर जलाने की लोमहर्षक घटना सामने आयी है। मामला गुना के उखावद खुर्द गांव का है। घटना को अंजाम मजदूर के मालिक ने दिया है जिसने उसे काफी दिनों से बंधुआ बना कर रखा हुआ था। मामला प्रकाश में आने के बाद इलाके में रोष है।
